Prayer & Praise Letter

Thank you for your faithful praying for the dental and follow-up teams in January. We felt your prayers each and every day and knew that God was with us and in control. The dentists treated 340 patients in 8 days of clinics. A few patients wanted only one tooth pulled but many wanted 2-7 pulled which the dentists did the most possible to make the patient feel better. Several patients arrived with infection so bad that they were given medication and then asked to come back in a couple of days so they could even open their mouths to have their tooth pulled. Several patients even had such bad abscesses that it had drained on the outside of their body below their jaws. We praise God that they each went away having heard God’s word and also physically feeling better. Dr. Ron caught a bad cold in the middle of our 8 days but God allowed him to keep going and he felt better within a few days. Your prayers kept us all going! We had good village support and help in Koubalan and Bougoutoub. This was the first time for Sindian to have a dental clinic so they weren’t quite sure how to go about it. They had only one person there from the village to help us. God had lead us to take Lamine with us from Bougoutoub and he and the Fourway team (Brent and Graydon) were invaluable, willing to do whatever needed done.   The second and third day Ansoumana from Bougoutoub was there to translate for Brent and Graydon and he then also helped with the clinic. The last day in Sindian we treated 56 people but sadly had to turn away 50-60 people where Ansoumana was the only person in charge of “crowd control”. God was good to send us every worker that we needed, all of the patients plus those that traveled with them heard Bible stories, God gave us each the stamina and health to keep going, and even though we were all very tired it was rewarding to see people hearing His word and at the same time receiving the dental care that they needed. We praise God for answered prayer, for people answering God’s call and coming to meet the needs of the Jola people and for our faithful prayer warriors!
